〈この〜木なんの木？・モンキーポッド〉
モンキーポッドは熱帯アメリカ原産の常緑高木で、日立のCM（この木なんの木）として知られています。
可憐なピンクの花が咲いた後になる実が、絹さやを大きくしたようなさやで、この実を野生の猿が好んで食べた事がモンキーポッド（ポッド＝さやの意味）の名前の由来とされています。夜と曇りの時は葉を閉じ羽を開いてないときの蝶のような姿になり、その閉じた葉に溜まった雫が滴る為、アメフリノキ（rain tree）とも呼ばれます。
淡い色味と濃い色味のグラデーションがはっきりしており、樹形だけでなく色調も強い個性を楽しむ事ができます。また、白太が残っていると赤太とのコントラストが美しく、白木と黒木の両方を兼ね備えているので、どんな空間にもマッチします。
