ポプラ瘤とレジン(樹脂)を融合させたモダンで空間に洗練さを与えることができる一枚板となっております。
植物もダメージを受けると私たち人間が怪我をした時と同様に自然治癒力が働きます。虫が樹内に入ったり枝が折れたりすると、その部分を修復しようとして盛り上がりが生じます。それが瘤となります。木が長い年月を経て立派な太さに成長していくまでの過程を表現しているものとも言えます。ポプラの一枚板では他の無垢に比べて特に瘤がみられ、一度目にすると強く印象に残るほど自然の力による美しさを感じさせます。
サイドをレジンで固めていることによって、耳の美しさや木本来の立体感を残したまま仕上げている面も魅力の一つです。
レジンは着色が可能ですが、当社は無垢の魅力を引き立たせる為にも透明感を重視しており、作製にも時間をかけて商品にしております。

ポプラの種類は世界に約40種類あると言われており、主に北半球、少数が南半球に分布しています。
成長が著しく早くあっという間に数十メートルもの高さになるため一枚板がとりやすい一種となっております。色味は栃のような白さもありながら淡褐色も含まれており、そこに瘤が現れるので心を引きつけられるお客様も多いです。おもて面と裏面の瘤の出方の違いも見比べると楽しめると思います。一般的な木は導管一本一本が幹の流れに従って現れますが、瘤がある場合導管に食い込むような形になるのでマーブル模様のように見える部分もあり、その不規則さに情緒が感じられます。
