ポプラ瘤の一枚板です。

ポプラの種類は世界に約40種類あると言われており、主に北半球、少数が南半球に分布しています。


成長が著しく早くあっという間に数十メートルもの高さになるため一枚板がとりやすい一種となっております。色味は栃のような白さもありながら淡褐色も含まれており、そこに瘤が現れるので心を引きつけられるお客様も多いです。おもて面と裏面の瘤の出方の違いなどから表情が異なって見えるのも特徴です。一般的な木は導管一本一本が幹の流れに従って現れますが、瘤がある場合導管に食い込むような形になるのでマーブル模様のように見える部分もあり、その不規則さに情緒が感じられます。
また、ポプラはゴツゴツとした耳も特徴的な樹種です。流動的な形状やゴツゴツとした耳から自然の力を身近に感じることができます。
全体を通してこのポプラは幅が広いため、テーブルを広く使用したい方にはピッタリです。

一般的に比重が低く広葉樹の中では柔らかいポプラをハードウッド仕上げにて強化しております。

＜ハードウッド仕上げ＞
ハードウッド仕上げでは、木材の風合いを生かしたコーティングの薄塗りにより木材をを強化し、広葉樹の代表格であるナラに匹敵するほどの硬さが得られます。
